Guided Walknew events

Meet by dial sculpture and memorial, Walpole Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1RR

Visit some of Gosport’s lesser-known but glorious gardens on this circular guided walk, laced with lots of snippets of local history along the route.

Starting at the top of the High Street, you’ll be guided past a fine George V letterbox and into one of Gosport’s best-kept ‘secrets’, Nicholson Garden, a large enclosed Victorian greenspace with many mature trees and features. After seeing two former schools, you’ll be off to visit The Grove, a beautiful community garden, that includes a brick labyrinth based on a design at Chartres Cathedral in France. Along the way you’ll learn about Captain Edward Samuel, which plant is featured on the pillar box, and what happened in Spring Garden House…

Please meet your Guide, 10 minutes before the start time, by the dial sculpture at the end of pedestrianised High Street.

Duration approx. 90 minutes.
